Dream, Baby, Dream

Gosh, it seems like weeks since I have blogged & really, it has been weeks since I have blogged. Life has gotten a little more chaotic around the Nyquest household as reality sets in. The nursery is almost finalized, the budgeting has started to get a bit more hardcore than before, & my feet can only hold this extra weight up for very short periods of time before they swell into marshmallows.

My body continues to change each day & my back has gotten better, but still has it's moments. My feet don't fit into the majority of my shoes (& I had to borrow flats!) My fingers are so swollen I can't wear my wedding ring anymore (undoubtedly resulting in a few judgemental onlookers who think I am mothering this child on my own). My belly is so large (& moves non-stop), I can't see my feet & painting my toenails is a thing of the past (now I have to rely on Shad who paints nails sideways).

My favorite part of my pregnancy right now are the crazy dreams I have been having. Last week, I had a dream that my friend, Beth was trying ot have me smoke marijuana (yes, while pregnant) & the reason she insisted I smoke it was because it was Canadian & Canadian marijuana is legal. (Wow, that's news to me.)

Last night, I had a dream that I was being peer-pressured by my sister-in-law, Shauna & my sister, Alicia into getting a breast augmentation. I was all for it until I found out the procedure was done in a shack infested with mice. I went through with it anyway though & apparently, they have to cut your body in half to give you implants. And, for some reason the mice-infested-shack-owners/plastic surgeons do not believe in anesthetics, so I was awake through the whole thing & saw them remove the bottom half of my body while explaining what the organs were inside. (Grossed out yet? There's more.) As I saw the bottom half of my torso sitting against the wall, I looked over & it was filled with crushed ice (the kind you get at Pizza Hut). What the heck?!

Shad has what he considers dreamless sleep. Although, it's proven (somewhere in some medical book) that your mind never stops running; therefore everyone dreams. Shad's memory is one of an 80-year-old man with Alzheimers while he's not sleeping, so for him to remember a dream is unlikely. So, trying to explain to him what I just experienced over night is quite unbelievable for him (I can't imagine why. These are very realistic events.)

So, ... that's why I can share them with you. And get a good laugh out of them later down the road with Cashe, perhaps (especially when I get to explain to him what Canadian marijuana is & why Mom would want a breast augmentation.)

  1. Oh man! I'm laughing that whole body giggle that makes your entire self shake. Pregnancy dreams are one of my very favorite things. It's the only time I actually LIKE to dream because they're totally wacky and ridiculous. Thanks for sharing! :)
