I know I still need to post about Christmas (aside from my crazy moments with Alicia), but this deserves a post ...
I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off these days. As soon as we returned from the holidays in Missoula, I thought I would go through a depression because the excitement was over & my husband was leaving home for 20 days.
Well, it was kind of depressing after he left because not only did he leave, our precious neighbors of 6 years left too, but I somehow managed to keep myself so busy I can't think straight (yet somehow blogging eases my mind). However, here I am in this house with my little man trying to stay focused & not freak out that I can't run over to Jill's for tea whenver I want to.
The cool thing is, I've managed to stay so super duper POOOPER busy (not because I'm still pooping my pants though) that time is flying ... a little too fast & I need to catch up.
First off, I signed up to participate in this 90-day weight loss challenge that started on the 2nd. We check in weekly (via email) with the group who is doing it & talk about how much we've lost & encourage each other. It's fun & definitely convicting when the other girls are drinking a GALLON of water a day & not doing 'mediocre' workouts. For me, it's been a really good check-in/accountability challenge so that I don't eat everything but the kitchen sink because I'm stressed out.
In addition, I'm hosting our monthly bunco get-together at my house this month (since it's the last month we have a house in Boise). It's my very favorite girls' night we have carved in stone every month.
I'm also helping host my dear dear dear friend, Jen's baby shower this month. I can't give details until later though because I don't want to spoil the surprise. It'll be beautiful though.
To top things off, for some odd reason, my boss thinks I need a boat-load of work this month since she's bored (& still frequently talking about her dog potty-training incidents).
And in order to not have any medical or vehicle 'things' pending when we get to Twin, I decided to schedule every doctor's appointment, dental appointment & oil change known to man this month too.
The great news is, we DID find renters for our place here in Meridian (PRAISE THE LORD!) They move in on February 15th, so trying to get things off the walls & patching holes is my latest & greatest project in between work, party-planning, chasing my fruity-loop-child (see directly below) around the house & spending my entire Healthcare Spending Account in 30 days.
BUT ... the icing on the cake is that we also put in two offers on houses in Twin this week. "WHAT?!?!", you say. Yeah, we changed our minds after discussing things with a financial advisor (different than our usual financial advisor) while we were home for the holidays & this seems like the best move for us, LITERALLY. Again, details to come as I don't want get you all excited with photos of our mansion in case we don't get it.
Shad left on the 7th for Indianapolis to go through further training for his new job. While he was there, he's been spoiled (or so it seems according to our evening phone calls) with great meals, a great apartment & great company (both the people & the company, literally). He said he is the only person in this new class of something like 100 people (I could be way off, but I thought he said 100) who was hired without any experience. PRAISE GOD. I would say He really thinks we need to be in Twin?
Then to my surprise, I get home today after a LONG day of appointments & find this mysterious package on our doorstep addressed to me & filled with all my favorite candies, a bunch of gossip magazines, a gift certificate to Macaroni Grill, the Cars 2 movie for Cashe & a bunch of candy for him too. I look further & find a Thank You card from Shad's new boss thanking me for allowing him to be gone for three weeks to train. I bawled. GOD IS GOOD.
This new venture in our lives is going to be incredible & although it was a tough pill to swallow, I trust that this is where God wants us. So amidst all this chaos in our lives right now, He is my Rock. Hallelujah!
So many good things my friend! How exciting!
