Shad & Nicole Take Twin Falls

Yes, I am a huge fan of Kourtney & Kim Take New York & I was a huge fan of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami; therefore I am not ashamed to follow their lead & say Shad & Nicole ARE in fact Taking Twin Falls ... with Cashe, of course.

The big move has taken place & we are now residents at the Twin Falls, Idaho La Quinta Hotel. No complaints here though. Until we get into our home, Shad's company pays for all of our meals, so we've been eating like kings & queen. We have a flat screen TV in every room of our sweet suite, free breakfast, free (super soft) cookies, fabulous beds, a pool & a hot tub, a gym & most importantly, a maid. I'm kinda wishing this was the final move, like it is for the Kardashians when they "take" their cities. I could get used to this.

Nevertheless, that's not the case & I am okay with that too. We should move into our home next week & start living life like a normal family. Normal, meaning in a home & normal, meaning with a husband who sleeps in his own bed every night. Praise God.

The move so far has gone super smoothly. The movers showed up on a Monday, packed our things for an entire day & then put them all in the truck the following day & drove it all to Twin. Everything is stored somewhere in this town; where I'm not so sure (that's kinda weird).

We said some goodbyes the last week we were in Boise, but they were more of "See You Soons" than "Goodbyes".

We went out to Nampa for a playdate with our old neighbors, Jill, Caden & Ellie. Cashe looks forward to seeing Caden so much, he says Caden's name for days before & after we see him. Jill was sweet enough to make grilled cheese sandwiches, which Cashe called 'pancakes' for some odd reason, but ate two of them like he'd never been fed before.

The next day we had a big going away party at Bella Aquila in Eagle. My friends, Dianne, Amber Joy & Jen put the dinner together. We had a private room with a private menu! It was fabulous, but definitely difficult saying our "See You Soons".

The day after that, I met Kelly for a spinning class in the morning & coffee after that. Little did I know I may never be able to walk again after that class. Next time I take a spin class I am wearing several pairs of underwear & a few giant maxi pads to cushion myself. Ouch!

The morning we left, we cleaned & cleaned. I mopped my way out the door & lost it in the driveway. Shad held me while I sobbed (& Cashe tried to figure out what was going on).

I loved that house & I loved that neighborhood & I loved those neighbors (who don't even live there anymore) & I loved that part of our lives. That home is where we brought our first baby home & I'll always remember it. The fact is though, it's still ours & there IS a chance we may move back into it one day, but I was being dramatic.

We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory that afternoon & drove away.

Since we've been in Twin, we have met all sorts of friendly people, including the maintenance man, Leroy, WHO is coincidentally our new neighbor. He introduced himself to us one morning while we were having breakfast & come to find out, he lives in the house across the street from ours! He's super nice & VERY chatty (Shad's favorite), but full of knowledge & it really doesn't get any better having a maintenance man living across the street.

Outside of all the amazing blessings God continues to pour over us through this transition, I have had a few breakdowns (in addition to the driveway breakdown earlier). I'm getting a little disappointed in the small Target, the small Winco, the small Costco & the mall with Shopko as one of the anchor stores. I know, seriously, "Did the little rich girl have a problem with the butler?!" (That's from a Friends episode for those who aren't psycho fans like me.)

I realize how dumb I sound & how dumb I'm acting about SHOPPING LOCATIONS of all things. I do understand that there are people starving in this world. It's just the principle that I'm trying to cope with, it's not the same & I'm adjusting to change. If these stores were bigger & there was a Saks Fifth Avenue as the anchor store to the mall, I'd still be adjusting. I'm just searching for reasons to complain & finding them in such trivial things. Lame, Nicole. Lame.

So really, aside from the self-inflicted drama I'm creating in my life, life is awesome. Shad's doing well at his job & we see him every single night & every single morning. I'm able to focus on work like never before, so Praise the Lord for that. AND, I've managed to stay in touch with everyone just 3 days after leaving Boise.

God is good.
