In Journalism, you typically caption below a photo, but sometimes it's fun to read about what you're going to see, then BAM ... there's the cute photo that goes with it. Dang. I can't decide & I'm not sure what is BC (blogically correct).
Anyway ...
How is it that March is almost over? March. I can remember New Year's Eve as if it were yesterday (okay, maybe not). Oh well, bring on the sunshine & welcome, Spring!
This week started off slow again. Mondays aren't what they used to be in the office. I remember walking in on Monday mornings & expecting to be busy, busy, busy & by Friday, life slowed down a little. Now, Mondays start slow & by Friday, we're busy, busy, busy.
This week we went to the park around the corner on a windy day, which led to a runny nose, but still a ton of swing-time-fun.
I would get Cashe situated & push him on his swing & then jump onto the swing next to him & swing in sync with him & he'd laugh & laugh.
We've continued the no naptime trend this week & been pretty successful. Cashe gets an hour of quiet time & an hour of movie time (which may be excessive), but that way I still get 2 hours of 'me time' for work.
Normally, Cashe has to be in a room with someone, not necessarily playing with anyone, but just having the breathing existence of another body in the room must give him comfort.
With that being said, he still manages to do well in quiet time by himself. He finds time to read or play with his cars or his trains. I'll hear him say, "chooo chooo" the full hour he's in his room.
Wednesday, I went to my new friend, Brenda's house/salon to get my hair highlighted. Whoa, back the truck up - I haven't had highlights in like 10 years! It felt good to pay realistic prices though (although a little more expensive than my $7.00 box from Target) & go a little lighter.
Although I have no pictures yet, Shad says I look younger.
That night, Shad went to Jackpot with Robert, so Cashe & I made homemade roasted asparagus pizzas for dinner. All of my recipes come from Pinterest these days. I try new ones every week & some are hits & some are not. This was not one of Shad's favorites, so I am sure he was thrilled to be gone.
He's a genius.
Another new friend I met in Bible Study, Destiny invited me to be a part of this group of girls who meet twice a month for playdates, girls' nights out, etc.
One of the girls, Brooke just organizes the year of playdates & emails out a schedule of field trips to bowling alleys, hot springs, birthday parties, the lake, the pumpkin patch ... you name it!
This Thursday was a trip to the CSI (not Crime Scene Investigators, but College of Southern Idaho) Museum. We met up with probably 8 other girls & their kiddos & had a ball.
Mind you, my son might be one of the younger, more wild children of the group, so he was pulling apart dinosaur jaws & pulling fossils off the wall. It was quite difficult for me to have a conversation with any of the girls, but that's okay -- I suppose that's what girls' nights are for. It was still a great time.
Where's Waldo: See if you can find my child running back & forth in front of this giant dinosaur exhibit. See how well he sits still & poses for photos?

Aside from running & running & running & running, Cashe loved this black light room where you could look at fossils in the dark. He just liked to play "Peek-a-Boo" in the curtain.
Afterwards, Brooke passed out homemade yummo muffins & juice. How fun!?! (and organized!)
Friday afternoon, Dad got off early but needed to get his haircut, so he dropped Cashe & I off at this 'interactive toy store' called ToyTown. It was WAY cool.
While we were there, we bought another puzzle.
Cashe was drawn to the Thomas the Train table & was glued to the trains as if we were at home. I tried to convince him that there were other toys to play with since we already had a train table at home, but apparently he is a creature of habit.

And as soon as we got home, he was back to playing with trains again.
Saturday, we were blessed with a super sunshiny day with 70-degree weather, so we went to the park, had a $2.00 lunch: Costco pizza & went to Dierke's Lake (about a mile from our house!) to explore the trails & see what the lake looked like.

Notice the cute ensemble my husband put together for Cashe -- a beach shirt, high-water camo pants & plaid shoes.
This boy was in heaven running & running & running (go figure) up & down the trails. Every so often, he'd stop & point at the lake & say, "Water!" & run & run & run again. Thankfully he slept well.
