July 2012: Week Two

So, I get home from Missoula on Tuesday night & my beautiful boys are in Boise to greet me & take me to dinner. It was such a nice break from the norm, but I missed those two SO much.
Shad did phenomenally as a single dad & Cashe did make me feel good by asking Dad, "Where is sheee?" a lot.  Little sweetheart.

Our first dinner together having been in Missoula for 7 days.
We had one playdate that week with my friend, Jessica & her 3 kids.  They all came over for a water balloon fight before we got ready for my sister & her fam & Shad's sister & her fam to come visit from Missoula.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this photo of Shad & our niece, Sage.  Sooo sweet.

Cashe had a BALL with cousin Colty.

They played outside a ton (before it started raining) & ran through our new water snake!

Colty got thirsty & got creative.

The boys went golfing that afternoon & we got a babysitter so we could kayak to the Falls; however it rained.
And it rained.
And it rained.
So we went to Elevation 486 instead & viewed the canyon from above.

Once the rain stopped, we drove to the Falls.
(Here is my 'classic' Shoshone Falls photo.)

Then we went for a hike & these dare devils looked over the edge!

That night we BBQ-ed shish kebabs & enjoyed them on our high class patio furniture.

The boys checked out my baby bird nest that the birds built on the side of the house.
The eggs hatched last week & there are a ton of tiny birds.
They are so sweet (the birds & our boys).

Having some coffee.  Again, in the fancy chairs.

Lovin' on my little man.

Little man lovin' on me!
(Not sure where the scratch on his nose came from.  He's a boy!)

The little guys had to warm up after their time in the snake sprinkler.

And they finished off the night with a little snuggly time & a movie.
So cute.

Sunday morning the boys had ice cream sundaes (yeah, we rock as parents!) & hung out with Shad on the patio.

Then we decided to drive to Jackpot so the boys could gamble & us girls & kids could use the pool!

Here is Cashe enjoying his almonds through his nose apparently.

Cousin Colty & his 12 floating devices!
Sunday night we got another babysitter so we could have a date night.
We went to Canyon Crest first ...
The Nyquests

The Tripps

The Nelsons

Then we made our way over to Elevation 486 via the walking trail & these two decided to be dare devils & peer out over the edge this time.  Crazy kids.

Before they all left on Monday, the big boys fit in one last round of golf.  So, Shauna & I took the little boys to the giant toy store (while Alicia & Sage stayed home & fought off some illness they had).

It was a fantastic whirlwind of a trip & we are so grateful to have family come see our new home & spend some time with us.

Looking forward to seeing how many of my 'classic Shoshone Falls photos' I can take this year, so schedule your trip now!

  1. Friend!!! I had a dream last night that you were here and I was chatting on and on about all things "me" and then you were getting ready to leave. Suddenly I yelled, "Oh my gosh! I haven't asked about your race yet!" And you said, "Well I wasn't going to tell because you didn't ask." Boo on me. So - I almost didn't even read these posts so that I could ask in person. :) Can't wait for the in-person re-cap.
    Pah-roud of you!!!
