August 2012: Week Two

Get comfy because this week was a wild one.

The week began with a request from Cashe-man for breakfast on the patio.  He's growing so fast & the things he learns & says make me laugh so hard & just appreciate this stage in his life SO much.  I just adore that little man (& my big man too, of course.)
We made a few walks to the park early in the week & did our usual gym routine & grocery routine.

Breakfast on the patio.
One night while Dad was in Pocatello for work, Cashe & I had a camp-out in our bedroom.

Shockingly, we were able to finally make it to our weekly playdate with the whole play group.  Normally, I have conference calls scheduled for work right smack in the middle of playgroup.

This week's activity was at the Twin Falls Art Center.  We hired a teacher to teach the kids about art & we had a painting project.  It was so much fun & I'm so glad we didn't miss it.
The morning started with some light coloring on our paper 'island'.

Then the paints came out.
And the paints continued to come out.
And thankfullly, the paint came out of his clothes!

Here are a few of the other artists in our group.

Miss Emerson was helping Cashe-man look out the window at the cars in the parking lot.
What a sweetie pie.
She's such a great big sis.
The highlight of my week was when my sweet hubby came home early on Thursday afternoon so I could leave for a girls' weekend in McCall with my new Twin friends.

Months ago, when I first met these girls, Becca told me to save this weekend in August for a trip to McCall to stay the weekend at her parent's cabin.

Erica's husband called our weekend, The Middle-Aged Mother's Convention, so we dubbed it the "MAMC Weekend".  We had an agenda & everything ... well, sort of.

Driving to Boise first: Jess, me & Bekah.

You can't go through Boise for a girls' weekend & NOT stop at Barbacoa for dinner ...
especially since these girls had never been!

And you can't miss out a great photo opp in the Barbacoa bathroom: Destiny, me & Bekah.

Bekah made her own homemade lemonade with 12 + lemons, 1 lime & some sparkling water.

Miss Jodi & Brooke.

Erica & Jess.

Destiny & Becca.

Becca & I in the bathroom in all our pink!
Sexy mama at the door.
Look at those legs!

This is our photo with sweet 83-year-old friend, Byron.
He was going to move out of the photo, but we asked him to stay & it made his whole night!
Thankfully, the highway to McCall was open (it had been closed earlier in the week due to forest fires).  We still saw flames on the way there, but we were safe & we were so grateful McCall wasn't smokey either.

The next morning, the majority of the group went to the spa.

And the crazies had to squeeze in a 6 + mile run!
(We DO have a race to train for the following weekend.)
We did great on our run though, got ready & met the girls down at the spa!

Jodi & Brooke after their spa treatments looking so relaxed & refreshed.

Becca, the hostess with the mostess & cute patootie, Erica.

After the spa, we headed to The Shore Lodge for lunch on the lake.

These two beauties were high school besties.

These two ordered the best lemonade EVER
(which constitues a cute photo in front of the lake).

And after lunch, why not pile on a few extra calories with some ice cream?!

Poor honey had to ice her knees after our run & our long day walking around.
(Man, we're getting old.)

... We're not too old to get ready to go out dancin' though!
Talk about teamwork.

I somehow got designated 'hair girl'.

Here we go!
Bekah, Jodi & Jess.

And Destiny, Becca & Brooke.

Our two Dancing Queens.

Even hot mama, Destiny got out there with her little belly.
She was the BEST trooper the ENTIRE trip.
She puts all us whiney prego girls to shame.

Bekah was our entertainment that night in every way possible.
Watching guys sulk & walk away after she broke the news to them that she has been married for 14 years & has 3 kids was by far some of the best laughs we had.

The following morning was a LITTLE different than the span morning the day before.
We were POOPED after a LONG night of dancing our hearts out & then staying up til 2am to discuss our dancing skills.

But we wasted no time ...
We made our way to Ponderosa Park for a long hike.

Because after our hike, we had a day ahead of us of BOATING: Jodi & Erica.
Erica & Jess.

Destiny & Brooke.

And yes, this is me squeezing Becca's booty.
Why not?!?

The Pedicure Princesses.

Can a pregnant girl get any cuter?!

Our boat-driver, Becca.

The two B's: Becca & Bekah.

A couple Loungin' Ladies: Destiny & Jodi.

Our official flag girl: Jodi.

Bekah & I rode the tube for HOURS & HOURS that day.
We stopped by Becca's friends' condo to say hi that afternoon & decided to play on the condo's water trampoline.
We were so exhausted from holding on to a tube all day, we could barely move.

Bekah even had Jodi guide her through a little yoga that night.

But we're never too tired to miss out on a night of dancing!

And before we left, "Danielle" (who named herself that the night before when she had a few guys ask her to dance) had a photo next to Becca's Dad's car.
There's nothing like a quick jump rope trick or two in wedges & with child while we pack up the car!

We stopped in Boise on our way home for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory & Jessica gave Erica a MAMC tattoo.

And "Danielle" flirted with the waitor to get a little extra whipped cream on her cheesecake for her kiddos.
We're such good moms.
