October 2012: Week Four

Grammie & Auntie Patty left for Montana early Sunday morning after having spent the week with Cashe while Shad & I were gone.

Cashe & I headed to church (where he runs up to the door when we get there & greets everyone by shaking their hands, even if they're leaving from the early service).

After church, we went to Winco to pick up a few groceries for the week & that's when we decided it was time to get ourselves a pumpkin for the season.

Cashe found it essential to use the pumpkin as his chair in the shopping cart.
We booked it home from the store to bolt out the door again to meet Glo so we could hike 'the grade'.  Glo convinced us that we needed to walk across the Perrine Bridge if we never had done so before (which we hadn't).  She thought Cashe might get a kick out of looking over the edge.  Sure enough, it didn't faze him; nothing does.

Cashe-man & Glo looking over the bridge.

Cashe & Mama.

Then we went back to Centennial Park & played on the playground for a bit.
Cashe pushed us on the swings mostly.
LOVE this picture of these two - their faces are priceless!

This week's preschool co-op was out at Amber's house in Jerome. This was our second time to Jerome, but our first time into the 'heart of Jerome'. It seemed like it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get to Amber's house (not to mention, it was raining cats & dogs), but it was well worth it because Cashe had a ball & learned lots. [No fun pix though.]

We made it to the gym later where Cashe made a scary Halloween mask in Kids Klub & wore it the rest of the day.

Riding home from the gym.

Wearing his mask for dinner sans the stickers he insisted on peeling off & sticking all over our countertops.

My Dad was making his way home from Arizona after Grandpa's memorial last week.  His truck was full of all of the things we inherited from Grandma & Grandpa (no, I did not request the giant, gold plates, but there's a good chance they packed them in my bin of things -- I haven't looked yet).

Dad rolled into town mid-afternoon on Tuesday & took us out to for dinner & said goodbye Wednesday morning before we were off to BSF & he traveled onto Missoula to see my sister.

Grandpa & Cashe-man.

One afternoon, Cashe was watching a show on Disney where they were making cakes (but he referred to them as pancakes), so I told him we could make him a pancake.
Pancake batter is yucko, I think, but he liked it.

Cashe also helped me dig my wig out of the garage for our Halloween party.
And twice this week, Cashe found his way out to the couch after being put to bed.
He hauled out his pillows, blankets & bear & laid on the couch talking to himself until we came & found him.

He also put on my shower cap while playing with his trains in the tub.
Totally normal.
Friday afternoon, Shad came home early for me to watch Cashe & I met my friends, Bekah & Glo for lunch to celebrate Bekah's birthday.

After lunch, I made my way around town trying to find the perfect details for our Halloween costumes this year.

And here we are: Elin Nordegren & Tiger Woods
(although you can't see it in this photo, my golf club is bent from giving Tiger his black eye.
AND, Shad was supposed to paint himself brown, but he wouldn't cooperate.
Whatever.)
Cashe-man wore his cutie little shark costume
(which is really a killer whale costume I discovered, but again ... whatever.)
And off to the Holdeman's Halloween Party we went ...
Jessica is the epitome of Martha Stewart/Pinterest/Bob Vila in my book.
She can decorate, sew, & build furniture like no one else.

All of her decorations were so cute & so perfect.

Our family photo: Elin, Tiger & our shark.

All of the girls:
Gypsy/Pirate Jodi,
Pirate Brooke,
Vampire Becca,
Wonder Woman Jessica,
Scottish girl Lynn,
Halloween chick Cindy
& me as angry Elin.
The boys:
Pirate Brett,
Scottish kilt-adorning Jared,
Green Lantern Steve,
Vampire Kurtis,
Zombie Dan,
Redneck Chad,
& Shad as a sorry-looking Tiger.

The entire group & a couple kids too! ...
+ Destiny with her redneck hubby who has his beer on her prego belly.

Becca & a few of her sweet girls: Lilah & Caroline.

Zombie Dan scared Cashe horribly a time or two, but then made him smile,
then would scare him again, & then make him smile.

Cashe's favorite place was hanging with Dusty & Jamie on the couch.
"Forget the other kids?!?! These two are far more fun!"
Sunday morning before church.
Wearing a tie just like Daddy does.
So sweet.
And after a long morning at church & Ihop, we had a little down time to read his new favorite book from Auntie Kelly.
While we were walking into breakfast,
Cashe saw a man with white hair & said, "Look!  It's a grandpa!"
Ha ... thankfully his wife thought it was hysterical like I did.
And hopefully, the poor man is a grandpa or Cashe's 'honesty' may have made him think about a dye-job.

Since we had had a late night the night before at the Holdeman's & Cashe decided to have an early morning, he was awfully grumpy so he took a nap & when he woke up, we promised him he could carve the pumpkin he picked out earlier in the week.

"Ewwwwwwwwwwe!" they'd both say.

Cashe got down & dirty.
We picked out an owl template online,
I drew it &
Shad got the pleasure of carving it.

... while Cashe & Mama made kissy pix.

Awe, there she is!
Whoo ... whoo ... whooooo
