God, He's All Yours ...

On Sunday, July 11th, we finally scheduled Cashe's dedication at church.

There are often some questions around baby dedications versus baptisms & I found this great description of what a dedication is & I had to share.

A Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God's will and to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways.

Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he can make a decision on his or her own to follow God.

Cashe's dedication went really well. Cashe normally goes to nursery right away on Sunday mornings & last Sunday, he got to enjoy the worship music before we dedicated him. He jumped & bounced all over the place & loved every minute of it!

We were given a prayer journal to track special spiritual events & answered prayers that take place throughout Cashe's life. This verse (Proverbs 3: 3,4) was also chosen for him.

Shad & I were married for 6 years before we tried to have children. I thought for sure we'd have no problems, but 7 months later, I was questioning whether God had us in mind to be parents. Then, one day we were blessed with the news that we were going to have a baby!

And now, each day I praise God & thank Him for blessing us with this tiny, little miracle who is just so perfect in our eyes. He gives us so much joy & he is truly just a gift from God. He's not ours, he's God's & we just have to do our best to raise him to be a strong, Christian man with Biblical morals & values that will allow him to have an admirable character that people are drawn to.
