May started off slowly & according to the calendar, this is where the fun begins & doesn't slow back down again until October. So we welcomed the calmness in light of what was expected to come.
Here's a recap of our fairly mellow week:
 |
"Dolphin." "Fish." "Fish." "Dolphin."
He loves this frame Shad & I got in Hawaii because of all the bright colored fish & dolphins.
He's doing really well at saying every word he hears (gotta start making sure we're minding our p's & q's now!) & he's starting to form little sentences. |
 |
Since Cashe had been seen by the Primary Care office twice in 2 months, I thought it would be best if we didn't wait any longer to get established with a Pediatrician in Twin.
We met Dr. Reese & her fabulous nurse & fell in love!
Cashe is doing spectacular & is right on target for all his mental & physical growth, just as we suspected.
It's nice to have it confirmed though. |
I should preface these next pix with a few statements -- Shad
had a great company car that he got the week he started; however because he does so much travel to Sun Valley (where the roads aren't so dry at all times), he was encouraged to get yet
another company car (not in addition to, but instead of the other one) with all-wheel-drive.
The cool thing was, he got to go to the website & build the car himself. This sweet man has almost always let me have the nicer car, even without having had a child. I always got to drive the cuter cars, so this little luxury came to him much-deserved as far as I'm concerned.
 |
He picked black, black, black (his fave) with black leather interior (with white stitching - so classy).
It's got all sorts of upgrades too & is really a nice car. |
 |
Until we have them pick up the grey car, we have 3 cars in our garage!
Quite a squeeze, & probably won't happen again until Cashe is a teenager, so I had to capture a picture. |
Shad had signed up for our church's softball team about a month ago & has been practicing at CSI (again, College of Southern Idaho, not Crime Scene Investigators) & has his first game next week. Cashe & I have gone to his practices a few time to cheer him on; however Cashe isn't quite interested in sitting still yet. He'd rather explore.
 |
| Here we are at CSI trying to stay occupied without getting in the stream. The CSI campus is beautiful. |
 |
Another feat we try to get through almost every week, is Cashe tearing all the pillows off our bed & heaping them into a big pile that he can jump onto.
His "consequence" was to put all the pillows back where they belong.
This was the result. |
 |
I hate this sweatshirt.
Shad loves it.
He wouldn't let me wash it because he had been wearing it for yard work & softball practice.
When I finally snuck it away from him to wash it (although I wanted to toss it), he freaked out.
While he was at practice, I decided I'd put his precious sweatshirt back on his desk for him. |
 |
Twin has the most gorgeous weather - sun, sun, sun! However, there are no mountains or hills nearby that block the wind, wind, wind;
therefore, our time outside is a little more limited & when we get the opportunity, we're off to the park! |
 |
Cashe LOVES the park -- his new favorite pasttime is rolling rocks down the twirly slide & then sliding down after them. He giggles & giggles & says, "weeee" as the rocks go down.
Such sweet, innocent fun. |
 |
We finally put Cashe-man's new Laker jersey on him over the weekend.
What a stud he is - watch out, Kobe! This boy loves "b-ball"! |
This week was one of the weeks where our Twin Play Group gets together for a playdate. Our friend, Jamie was celebrating her birthday so we had a potluck lunch at our friend Alexis' house & then took the kids to the park to play & had cake for Jamie's birthday. We were there for 4 hours & had a ball!
Cashe loves playing with the other kiddos & really needs it. We're praying about getting into a great preschool here in town & we're currently on the waiting list. Hopefully God opens that door soon so Little Man can get some more structured interaction with kids.
Hanging with Mom all day can be a drag after awhile, but we're certainly enjoying each other. God is good for allowing me to be home with him.
