May 2012: Week Four

May has FLOWN by & I predict that the coming months are only going to go faster.

Our week started off with a normally slow Monday & by Tuesday, I got my hair done & headed straight for a quick photo shoot with the fam at Centennial Park.

We got a few sneak-peaks of the photos Katie took & they're really cute!  (I just met Katie through Bible Study Fellowship & she's moving next month - ugh! - so I had to get photos in ASAP before her talent left Twin.

The story of our lives: this child never stops moving, even if we each have one hand.
He still manages to swing.
Katie had SUCH patience.

Pretty Twin.  Such a different 'look' than what we grew up with in Montana.
It really is beautiful here (aside from the C-R-A-Z-Y wind) & my boys are SO handsome.
I, on the other hand, look like a statue in this photo (I know, so critical of ourselves as women), but I'm sure Katie's got more good ones to come (hopefully).

The weather has been getting warmer & warmer.
Some mornings, Shad & I have our coffee on the patio & I'll read to Cashe too.

When we're not outside, we're playing inside.  Whether it be with trains or cars, or Playdough, it's sometimes brief because of the short attention spans we BOTH have.  Playdough has been the new request from Cashe though.

We had a few birthday cards to shop for this month too, so we hit up Target.  Sometimes, if I'm feeling brave, I let Cashe walk with me instead of sitting in a cart.  This is what tends to happen.  Either he runs in & out of aisles, in front of people's carts OR he crawls all over the filthy floors.

The days certainly wear him out though.
And Cashe INSISTS on napping in our bed.

But life sure is fun.
And THAT'S all that matters.

I love this little man.

One night, I found a poor kitty meowing on our porch & Shad asked me not to let it in or feed it, so I walked away.
The next day a sign was posted on our mailboxes, so I called the girl & told her that her kitty had been on our porch the night before, so he should still be around, hopefully.  She asked if she could bring food over & put it on our porch & sure enough, he was found!  He came back for all his food & was found two houses down.

Yay for the cat being found!

The week ended with a visit from my sweet cousin, Kelly from Boise.
She came over for the day to hang out & see the falls (that have dwindled into tiny trickles in comparison to what they were earlier this Spring).

We went on a long walk along the canyon that  I've always wanted to do.

It was the perfect walk for Kelly & I & it gave us plenty of time to catch up & just enjoy each other.

The path ends at the Evil Kenevil's jumpsite where he was supposed to jump over the Snake River/canyon in the 1970's on a motorcycle.  That mound of dirt is the ramp that was 'built' for his famous jump.
The week was good.  Praise God for a great family, good weather & fabulous friends.
Speaking of which, my month of birthday meals is almost up & it was incredible the food that was prepared for our family.  I'm still stunned at how amazing this year in this new adventure has turned out to be.

  1. So nice to catch up on your life Nicole! As a funny side note: my parents lived there when Evil Kenevil attempted his jump. :-)
