Any Day Now

For those of you who haven't received a call with details, here's the scoop - I went in again for my usual appointment last Friday only to find out that Cashe will be an October baby, not a November baby.

I had an ultrasound again to check on my amniotic fluid since last week it was pretty low. Well, it's not increasing any & he has passed all of his tests, which means he is still very active & receiving all of his nutrients. So, it's just a matter of time before he makes his way out on his own ... or I have to be induced sooner than later.

Cashe has dropped significantly & I am 50% efaced & expected to be dialated (although I was just starting to dialate on Friday). (Sorry, TMI for some of you, I know or just a bunch of crazy pregnancy lingo for those of you who haven't gone through this wild event.) Needless to say, my doctor said, "he's cooked" & healthy enough to join us. Hallelujah! How did I luck out enough to miss the last month (most uncomfortable month, I hear) of pregnancy? (Am I speaking too soon?)

My doctor's advice: "get ready". So, we have. This weekend has been whirlwind of nesting from installing the car seat to packing our hospital bags to cleaning the blinds, weeding, & grocery shopping (all with many breaks in between). I can feel the pressure of him moving his way down & I have had my fair share of contractions (a few that have shocked me a bit too), but slowing me down when I know there's vacuuming to do is not an easy task. It's at that point in time when I start slamming the vacuum cord around & Shad asks me what's wrong & we have an argument about mind-reading that results in me napping while he finishes all the floors.

Nevertheless, we're done! The blinds are clean, the floors are clean, the weeds are pulled, the laundry is done, the bags are packed & the nursery is complete. So, "any day now, buddy! We're ready for you."

  1. Cashe will be a little pumpkin instead of a little turkey! How exciting! I bet you just can't wait to meet him and give him big hugs and kisses!
