Like every Friday, I get to spend my afternoon in my "home away from home" at the doctor's office. It's kind of like "Cheers" there, everybody knows my name (& I hope they're always glad I came).
Well, today's visit wasn't quite so "cheerful" & before I worry all of you, please know that EVERYTHING IS FINE. Cashe is doing fabulously (almost too fabulously) & my amniotic fluid looks decent & I have started to lose weight (which is safe) & there are no signs of worry anywhere to be found.
...Unless of course, you take in to account that Cashe is already estimated to weigh 8lbs (& I'm not even 38 weeks yet!). And not only that, he has inherited his father's head, so it's not a squishy, soft & cuddly son who will be exiting my body here shortly; it's a gigantic, hard head that will I attempt to squeeze out of my pelvis within the next two weeks (sorry for the visual).
To top it all off, I have inherited my mother's genes, & I won't dilate. I'll leave the details out because not only are they graphic, they're personal (& no sicko who may be reading public blogs needs to know the specifics on my reproductive organs).
So, where does that leave me now? Besides feeling like Rachel from Friends when she was pregnant? Well, Shad seems to think that Cashe will be born tomorrow, October 24th, because his basketball number in high school was 24. If that's the case, then by all means, "Cashe, I hope you're listenin' to your dad & you're the true sports fanatic he is!"
But realistically, I adore my doctor (even if she does tell me this kid will be here by 37 weeks & he's not!) & I trust her completely when she says he's coming on my induction date. The question is not when now, it's how. Because of my dilation situation & the size of my child, there's a good chance I will need a c-section.
At this point, all I want is a firm answer on what to expect & when to expect it & really, God doesn't allow for those. So ... in the meantime, I'm going to continue washing the floors & cataloging my photos & yes, (as I was once teased about before ... ) I may just label my labelmaker & clean all of my cleaning products.
Oh & here are some updated photos of the nursery for all of you who have asked. We're still saving for a crib, but we have everything else we could possibly need. This little man is blessed beyond belief.
Uh huh, we could start our own body lotion, baby wash store.
Look at all those tiny, sweet little shoes.
And the teeny socks.
And his collection of adorable hats!
As long as you and Cashe are safe and sound, it doesn't matter how he gets out! Good luck with everything! I'm pulling for you!
ReplyDeleteBeen thinking about you girl! Hope all is well! I love Cashe's nursery! You did a great job! Keep us updated! Can't wait to see pics of your baby! Good luck with your last few weeks and the birth! :)
