I woke up this morning after a pretty incredible day yesterday thinking even more. Why incredible? Probably because I had lunch plans AND coffee plans all in one day (& didn't find myself playing Solitare & watching The E! True Hollywood Story about the Home Improvement cast).
So, I got to thinking & thought, "I have some pretty incredible faith, but rightfully so." (Not tooting my own faith horn here.) But, here's why.
Earlier this year, I was hosting a CAbi (clothing) Party at my home (I love this story) & since we rearranged the living room, we have had this empty wall in the living room. Well, I have had my eye on this gigantic mirror that basically takes up the majority of the wall. Well, with that being said, it wasn't cheap (no, I'm not tooting my own financial horn here either).
I knew we didn't have the extra money to be throwing towards a decorative mirror, but I thought, "what the heck, I'm going to pray for this mirror?!" And to top it off, I asked God if I could have the mirror before the CAbi Party. Yes, vain (in many aspects - it's a mirror for goodness sake!) & yes, odd. But not too big for God, right?
I walked in the door from work one Thursday afternoon (the Thursday before I hosted my party) & guess what was in my living room? Uh huh, you guessed it. As my friend Amber Joy refers to it, "The Mirror From Heaven" was leaning against the wall. Silly, you may say. But Shad had no idea I had been praying for this mirror. So for what reason should I not have faith?
THEN, in late August, I heard a message at church about praying audaciously. Ask God for whatever it is you need, but be specific (Pastor said to even use dates) & expect Him to answer your prayer because again, nothing is too big for Him.
This was probably week 6 of my miserable back pain, so I prayed that my back pain would be gone on Tuesday (which was September 1st). I prayed & prayed & prayed this prayer. Tuesday, September 1st came & went & I admit, I was upset, but figured there had to be a reason I was still suffering.
Then, Tuesday, September 8th (the following week), I woke up with little pain & I have had significantly reduced pain since then. God listened & answered me, but HE chose the Tuesday. So for what reason should I not have faith?
So my incredible day yesterday involved another one of these faithful moments. I am not in a position to be blogging about it quite yet, but I will say that months ago, I heard a message about "second chances" (don't think the worst here - it's not a messy situation by any means). Since that message, I had been praying for a second chance at something & God answered with a different answer than I expected, but it's an EXACT second chance. Confused yet?
I'll share the exciting news soon (so don't ask me until then because I promise I won't break), but until then, for what reason should I not have faith?
What an intriguing post my friend...my interest is piqued! :)
