I KILLED "PAPA PHIDIPPUS AUDAX"! I made up the "papa" part, but the second half of that is the correct terminology for the spider haunting my garage over the past week.
Phidippus Audax is better known as the "common jumping spider encountered in North America that are known for their spectacular leaps they make pouncing on their prey. Jumping spiders do not construct webs because they actively hunt their prey during the day, sneaking up & pouncing on their victim!"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I knew he was bad news.
(And I have the worst creepy-crawlies all over my entire body right now because I found his picture online - well not HIS, but his relatives' photos - he's squished against the window of my car).
I was getting ready to meet Kelly to go walk the Greenbelt & I was on the phone with my Dad in deep conversation. Cashe was in his carseat, happy as a lark mumbling in the back. I jumped in the front seat & go to shut my door ... & guess who's hanging out on my window?!? ON THE INSIDE!!
I ran over & grabbed a flip flop & smacked the crud outta that guy! My poor Dad paused in mid-sentence to make sure everything was okay. Oh yes it was! I felt like I had just won a war or found a missing serial killer.
And, if you see me driving around with his guts on my window, it's my little badge of honor. Uh huh, I'm a spider home-wrecker & I'm proud of it.
