the Bible about chickens running around with their heads cut off (that I know of). Back in the day, I know that sacrafices were made & perhaps a chicken was mentioned. My mother-in-law told me once that this was her favorite verse & I do have to say, it's one of my faves too. I've really been leaning on it lately as my life unravels before my eyes.
You might say, "Unravel? Seriously? Why?" I'm exaggerating. My life ROCKS the party that rocks the partay; however lately, I've just been ALL OVER THE PLACE (still) & I'm looking at finding all of the pieces of my unraveling ball of yarn so I can roll it all back up & continue.
It's that time of year & I want to be running outside, I want to be pruning the bushes, weeding the yard, swimming at the pool, touring the whole Parade of Homes, planting my new rose bush, replanting our crazy pine bush thingy (can you tell I am lacking a green thumb?) & just being outdoors (if the stupid rainy, windy weather permits), but when do I have time??
Not to mention, we have vacations planned which involves packing for 3 now (& requires a whole lot of calculations for weather & sizes for Cashe who won't stay in clothes longer than what seems to be only a month). Yeah, I know - we should have this whole packing thing down, but it's always changing. When you have a child who outgrows beds, toys & clothing so quickly, you've got to be on your toes! Not only that, I think we're going to need to invest in a Semi-truck soon to haul all this stuff. We thought we were geniuses when we got the Pilot. Little did we know we could outgrow that beast of a car. Packing my semi - when do I have time??
In the midst of all this, we're both still working of course. And right now happens to be a busy time for me & believe it or not, I had my "Please Don't Say 'I Told You So' Breakdown" to Shad the other day. I know I was thrilled to start working again part-time, but it consumes me some days & I am on the phone trying to problem-solve or I am glued to reports for hours. I prayed for my full-time job to be Cashe - I was blessed. I prayed for some "sense of self" through work - I was blessed. So, what's the problem? My job was pushing it's way to the top of my priorities. BUT, because I have the sweetest set-up & coolest boss, I pushed it back down & Cashe surpasses it all! Phew. AND, I have the next two weeks off to just relax & collect my thoughts again. Hallelujah. But seriously, you want me to join another conference call? When do I have time??
And you've got to be kidding me - computer problems! I DON'T HAVE TIME.
Oh, but there's more - We all got sore throats & fevers. Then, Cashe got a rash (that rhymes). Then, I got a crown replaced. Then, Cashe's nose started running. Then, Shad got nauseated. Yeah, it's always annoying to get sick, but most of all, we don't have time for this!
So to keep this who theme going - I have been volunteering in the nursery every week that I'm home. I LOVE the tiny little kiddos & I am so thankful I volunteered after becoming a mom, because it's quite overwhelming for someone who doesn't know kids well. Getting to know these tiny little peanuts has been so fun & watching them grow & smile & play & love on you (uh huh, with a couple boogies) is such a treat. The problem is, I want to volunteer every Sunday, but when do I have time??
Spring cleaning? You got it! No time.
Long over-due phone calls. Sorry, Mom & Dad - no time.
Dinners &/or drinks with friends - um, no time.
Where in the WORLD does the time go?? Well, praise the Lord for Philippians 4:13 because I keep rehearsing it in my head while I plow through these things -
Rose bush planted - check!
Bushes pruned - check!
Cashe to the doctor - check!
Reports turned in - check!
Nursery "duty" for 3 weeks in a row - check!
Dinner tomorrow night with a friend - check!
Laundry done - check!
No more sicknesses - check!
Packed for vacation - check!
Vacuuming complete - check!
Weeding accomplished - check!
Boogies wiped - check!
Rash almost gone - check!
... on my way to a great big bubble bath & a glass of wine - check!
(Can you say "wine" at the end of a blog titled Philippians 4:13? Please don't judge me because I don't have time to argue with you.)
... Oh & yes, I am sure I could get more done if I didn't blog for paragraphs & paragraphs; however it's therapeutic AND again, I don't have time to argue.
